Edo jobs was created to improve the welfare of every resident and ultimately the economic wellbeing of the state.
Edojobs and EdoStartups are two out of the many initiatives of the Government of Edo State to improve the welfare of every resident and ultimately the economic wellbeing of the state.
Since the launch of Edojobs, it has successfully registered over Two Hundred Thousand residents across all 18 local Government areas as well as creating over Thirty Thousand direct and indirect jobs.

Civil Engineer
Job Description includes:
- Designs construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
- Prepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
- Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress; inspecting construction site; verifying calculations and placements.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Requirements:
- HND/B.Eng – Construction or Civil Engineering

Job Description includes:

Soap Making Training (Edo Central)
The Soap Making training is an initiative of MamaMoni, an internationally and locally recognized organization that has impacted the lives of women in rural communities by providing them with knowledge and skills to improve their long-term income and overall source of livelihood.
The programme is billed to cater for women residing within Edo Central senatorial district with the overall aim of engaging these trainees in the Soap Making Factory situated in same region.

SLOT Foundation Academy, which is the capacity building arm of SLOT Nigeria limited, the leading retailer of mobile phones and devices in Nigeria.
The organization’s main name is primarily to help budding entrepreneurs and promote skill acquisition that would create jobs and promote local content. SLOT is proposing to train Edo state youths on mobile phone and laptop repair and engineering.

Entrepreneurship Training (Edo South)
The entrepreneurship training is being carried out by Sabihub a community of Technology-driven entrepreneurs, creatively addressing the issue of Unemployment through Civic engagement, collaborative platforms and use of technology; ultimately to impact lives and businesses in South-South, Nigeria.
Program Design:
The entrepreneurship is designed to train 200 entrepreneurs between the age of 18-35. The features include:
- 4 weeks of intensive classes
- 1-week mentorship
- 1 week of practice and Pitch reviews
- Demo Week; selected participants, would display their products and pitch their businesses before potential investors.
Goals:
- Activate SMEs to boost the economy.

Career Kickstart Programme (Edo South)
The Career Kickstart programme is being executed by GidiJobs, the initiative is designed to help disadvantaged youths become competitively employable within the job market.
It is a career building platform entrenched with the responsibility of bridging the gap between the knowledge gained from the formal education sector and the knowledge, skills and abilities required to function effectively in today’s global work environment.
The Career Kickstart programme is a 3-week intensive employability and entrepreneurship training programme that covers the following areas:
- Business Writing
- Accounts for non-Accountants
- Problem Solving and Use of Initiative
- Workplace Ethics and Telephone Etiquette
- Professional Dress Sense and Confidence Building
- Excellence in Customer Service
- Selling Skills
- ICT Skills
The Target of the programme is that 245 of the beneficiaries become directly engaged/self-sufficient upon completion of their training.
The programme will create 245 taxpayers within 6-12 calendar months as the partner is going to ensure they are gainfully employed at the end of the day.
Edo People Can Also Register For NPower Jobs
NPower is a Program that was created by the Federal Government of Nigeria in order to decrease the rate of youth unemployment.
The main aim of this program is to ensure that young graduates and non-graduates are equipped with professional skills and special tools to lead them to entrepreneurship and innovations.
N-Power Available Programs
1. NPOWER TEACH:
N-Power Teach Volunteers will help improve basic education delivery in Nigeria. N-Power Teach Volunteers will be deployed as teacher assistants in primary schools around Nigeria.
They will not replace the current teachers but will work as support teachers across Nigeria, assisting with teaching, school management and other functions within the schools.
Others are NPOWER HEALTH, NPOWER AGRO AND NPOWER TEACH.

4. For the purposes of N-Power, Graduate means having a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Bachelors Degree from a higher institution.
5. Npower Recruitment Criteria: Unemployed graduates or nongraduates Must be between 18-35 years old Basic illustration skills will be an advantage for animation and graphic arts For Script Writing, creative writing skills and analytical writing skills will be an advantage.
